Should you put “all your eggs all in one basket”?

Time and time again clients come to me with multiple domains.  One of my first recommendations is to keep it all together.  It’s all about Google PageRank (PR) which you can read about in my article on SEO Techniques.  Now that you’re back, let’s continue.

Suppose you have three sites each with their own Google PageRank.  By combining these sites and implementing the proper 301 redirects, the PR for the resulting site will benefit from all links to the original sites as well as all the content.  Generally, this means your new website’s PR will be no less than the highest PR of the original sites (and sometimes can be slightly greater)!

So go ahead, “put all your eggs in one basket”!
